Three rum bottles to explore in Bologna

J. Bally 7 Ans is an agricole rhum from Martinique, made from sugarcane juice and carrying a seven-year age statement. Its distinctive pyramid bottle and grassy character make it a useful introduction to this style.

Bumbu XO comes from Panama. Ex-bourbon maturation and a sherry-cask finish accompany a toffee, toasted-wood and spice direction. In our bar photographs, look for the matte black bottle with the large X.

Planteray Gran Añejo brings together Guatemala and Belize with a second maturation in France. The raffia-wrapped bottle offers another rum style to discuss with the bartender.
