French 75
Gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, champagne / prosecco.
Gin, lemon and bubbles. A Tom Collins that got dressed up.
Profile: fresh, dry and classic. An aperitivo pour, when you want something lively.
The name comes from the French 75mm field gun of the First World War: powerful and precise. In Paris they poured it at Harry's Bar as a wartime toast. The bubbles cut through the citrus without burying it, and it lifts the mood straight away.
