White Lady
Gin, triple sec, lemon, optional egg white.
A bright white sour. It looks simple, and it really isn't.
Profile: fresh, dry and classic. An aperitivo pour, when you want something lively.
Harry MacElhone first made it with cognac at London's Ciro's Club, then rebuilt it with gin at Harry's Bar in Paris, and the gin version is the one that stuck. The egg white is optional: with foam it's a silky sour, without it's sharper and more direct. It works either way.
