Born in 1978 at the Aviary Bar in Kuala Lumpur's Hilton, Malaysia: tiki meets Italian bitter in a luxury hotel. It stayed a local secret for years, until American bartenders rediscovered it in the 2000s. The contrast between pineapple sweetness and Campari bitterness is exactly what makes it stick.
