Painkiller
Dark rum, pineapple, orange, coconut cream, nutmeg.
Darker and spicier than a Piña Colada. Coconut, pineapple and a grating of nutmeg on the finish.
On the sip: creamy, tropical and sweet. An after-dinner drink, in place of dessert.
Invented in 1970 by Daphne Henderson at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke, in the British Virgin Islands. The secret ingredient was Pusser's Rum, the Royal Navy's historic brand, and freshly grated nutmeg on top was the signature. It's also famous for the 'Painkiller Contest': finish two in time and you win a T-shirt.
