Queen's Park Swizzle
Dark rum, mint, lime, sugar, angostura.
A darker, more aromatic Mojito. An icy swizzle, with bitters perfuming the top.
On the palate: fresh, bold and tropical. An aperitivo pour, when you want something lively.
Born at Port of Spain's Queen's Park Hotel in Trinidad around 1900: one of the oldest drinks in the tiki world. The swizzle technique uses a wooden twig, the 'swizzle stick', to chill and dilute the drink in crushed ice. The bitters on top aren't garnish: they're the aroma that announces a more grown-up Mojito.
