Singapore Sling
Gin, cherry brandy, Cointreau, Bénédictine, pineapple, lime, grenadine.
The Raffles long drink: red, tropical, spiced. A whole world in one glass.
On the sip: tropical, fruity and classic. A small holiday in a glass.
Ngiam Tong Boon created it between 1910 and 1915 at Singapore's Raffles Hotel, so women could drink something that looked like fruit juice. Cherry, pineapple, Bénédictine: every ingredient tells a piece of Empire. Purists still argue over the original recipe today.
